Pre-Kindergarten and Kindergarten.
What you will need:
- A piece of paper
- A pencil
What to do:
- Draw the letter D on the paper with the pencil and show it to your child.
- Tell your child that it’s the letter ‘D’ and the sound that it makes is ‘duh’.
- Ask them to repeat your pronunciation and ask them to try to draw their own letter Ds.
If your child learns the capital letter D right away, introduce the lower case letter d.
Print out the attached worksheet. Ask your child to complete the worksheet by themselves. Feel free to help them if they get stuck or ask any questions.
In order to see if your child has achieved the goal of this lesson, write a few different letters including D on the piece of paper. Give your child a crayon and ask them to circle the letter D.
