A math journal is a great way to promote your students’ and children’s abilities to learn and grow through words, numbers and drawing. Students should be encouraged to be as creative with their math journal entries as they like, using colorful drawings and illustrations to solve math problems.

There are two different download versions of this free Valentine’s Day math journal. One is for teachers, who can print and cut out as many prompts as they need for their students. Then, students can paste these prompts into their journals and write about their answers. Another version is for parents of public, private or homeschooled children. These parents can print out the eBook for each child and their children can use their eBooks as their personal math journals.

Some prompts may need only a simple answer, while others will require more writing and thinking on the students’ parts. I hope that your students enjoy these activities as much as my own students did.
