Goal
At the end of the lesson your child will be able to recognize the lower case letter g and say its name.

Introductory activity
What you will need:
- A piece of paper
- A crayon
What to do:
- Write the word ‘go’ on a piece of paper.
- Show your child that the ‘g’ on the piece of paper is a lower case g, and emphasize that it makes the sound ‘guh’ in a word.
- Tell your child that the word on the paper is ‘go’.
- Now play a game with them. Each time you hold up the paper with the word ‘go’, your child can ‘go’ (or run), read settlements annuities. When you put the paper down, they must stop running.
Challenge
If your child learns the lower case g right away, have them work on the supplemental worksheets for the letter G.
Reinforcement activity
Print out the attached worksheet. Ask your child to complete the worksheet by themselves. Feel free to help them if they get stuck or ask any questions.
Evaluation
In order to see if your child has achieved the goal of this lesson, ask him to pick out the letter g on a piece of paper with the small letter g other letters written on it.
