To help your child learn the lower case letter n.
Goal
At the end of the lesson your child will be able to recognize the lower case letter n and say its name.
Time requirement
20 minutes.

Introductory activity
What you will need:
- A paper napkin
- Some colored markers
What to do:
- Hold up a napkin and ask your child what it is.
- Tell them that the word napkin starts with a letter n, and that n makes the ‘nuh’ sound.
- Write the word ‘napkin’ on the napkin, and explain the letter n’s place within the word.
- Ask your child to draw some ‘n’s on the napkin as well.
Challenge
If your child learns the lower case n right away, have them work on the supplemental worksheets for the letter n.
Reinforcement activity
Print out the attached worksheet. Ask your child to complete the worksheet by themselves. Feel free to help out if they get stuck or ask any questions.
Evaluation
In order to see if your child has achieved the goal of this lesson, write the letter n on a piece of paper surrounded by other letters. Ask your child to look at the group of letters and pick out the letter n.
