To help your child learn the lower case letter l.
Goal
At the end of the lesson your child will be able to recognize the lower case letter l and say its name.

Introductory activity
What you will need:
- A piece of paper
- Some colored crayons
What to do:
- Ask your child to draw some lines on a piece of paper with the crayons.
- Write out the word ‘line’ on the paper.
- Explain to them that ‘line’ starts with the lowercase letter l, and that it makes the sound ‘luh’. Ask them to draw some lower case letter ls (that look like lines).
Challenge
If your child learns the lower case l right away, have them work on the supplemental worksheets for the letter L.
Reinforcement activity
Print out the attached worksheet. Ask your child to complete the worksheet by themselves. Feel free to help them if they get stuck or ask any questions.
Evaluation
In order to see if your child has achieved the goal of this lesson, write the letter l, and some other letters, on a piece of paper with a crayon, and ask your child to pick out the letter l.
